I have a couple Oracle SQL procedures that I am working on that I am calling from a JSF web application. For testing purposes I would like to output certain values to my server console. Is there a way to use

DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE

where I can see the output on the server console? I am using oracle application server and my database server is oracle 10g. Let me know. Thanks.

You don't have direct access to the buffer unless you are running a procedure in SQL*Plus. You can read what is on the buffer via the GET_LINE function, however this is not a very nice way to do debugging (one of the extra complication if you use Stored Procedures in you application). I'd work on the procedures in isolation, then try using them through your web application once you are confident they work as you expect.
