Hi all,

What is the advantage of using JDBC over Hibernate technology?
Which one is more preferable for querying multiple records in a large database?

Please let me know the pros and cons as I am fresh to back-end technologies.

Thanks,
Deepa

JDBC is theoretically faster (or the same) than hibernate since hibernate is always reduced to low-level JDBC calls. Even with hibernate, some advanced queries will require either direct JDBC or good stored procedures; object mapping tools really don't eliminate complex database issus, just simple ones like simple pojos/dos.

Welcome to JavaRanch!

Can you please update your display name so it complies with our Naming Policy. You can do this here.

Thanks!
