hello,
I am in very bad condition now.
my story is like this :
I got release from my project 2 months back. And now I was looking for onsite opprtunity. So I told RMG people about my wish. After allmost 2 months, I myself suggested them one project and asked them to talk with that manager. Then I got call from that manager. I told him my wish and he said ok. And he forwarded my resume. After that I had discussion with onsite co-ordinator and he is about to arrange client interview for me.

Now I got mail from RMG asking me to meet some other manager. I got confused and met him and told him that my profile is in process for other project.
On that he called RMG, but RMG guy replyied that he(I) is on bench and gave him go-ahead signal.
And just in 10 min. I got mail regarding my allocation in that new project.

THen I personally met RMG guy and told him that I was waiting for this onsite opportunity for long and now when I am getting that why are you allocating me in some other project on which he told me that he is not aware of all this and now he is forcing me to join second project.

I met manager of second project and told him everything. And also requested him that all this happened because of communication gap and i dont want to join that project.

But he replied me that my profile has been send to client and he cant do anything.

So i dont know what I have to do now.
But still I am having hopes from that manager.
So friends, plz tell me what should I do in this condition?

I feel you are making a big deal with onsite. Onsite is not such a big deal afterall.
If you try to resist joining the second project just because of onsite opportunity in some other project it may reflect negatively on you.
I'd suggest go ahead with the second project and try to prove yourself there.

I think if I am getting onsite opportunity then it is because I have proved myself somewhere. Right?
Do you think, We should only prove ourselves without any expectation.
And regarding negative reflection, do you mean that one should not ask for onsite?
I think, I deserve this opportunity and dont want to loose this just because of communication gap among RMG people.

Your arguments are reasonable. It's bad that you lost the opportunity because of communication gap. You could try to convince the concerns if possible.

Otherwise, you can look the possibilities of onsite chances in the new project you were allocated. You could make your manager to remind you when onsite opportunities come to the new project.

One benefit of joining new project is that, you could gain seniority in the project than the new comers into project and hence you will be always concerned as 'prime' resource in the project.

There is nothing wrong in desiring for onsite opportunities. When you have worked,if you have put in enough efforts,if you have proved yourselves, if you have some hold on your project and if you have maintained some specific identifiable position in your team, Then you can always approach your manager and express your desires and tell him what you deserve. And I think, what you have done is right. And if there is any communication gap, then you have to immediately speak to your manager and set it right.
