I also want to mention that there were two threads about this book in the Bunkhouse. It almost advertises itself:

thread started in June and thread started in August

Hi Lynn Beighley,

I already have a copy of your book and it's really fun reading it. I'm loving it. I've read many books on SQL but I just forget it after 3 weeks or so of reading it. But your book helps me keeping everything in mind and in particular I should praise the Head First style.

Thanks once again! Welcome to Javaranch.

Have a great time here.

Hi Lynn,

A couple of questions.. I have been working with JDBC for a couple of years now.. I know how to Insert, Update, Delete and Call Stored Procedures using SQL (using Statement, PreparedStatement, CallableStatement), will the book still benifit me.

Is it available in India off the shelf yet?

Welcome to the Ranch Lynn,

I got your book in Germany. I haven't read it but run over the pages of it. It looks very well balanced between content and style.

Another thing is, that you earned the respect by Dan Tow, which impressed me most.

Good Luck with your book.
Regards,
Darya

Hi everyone,
I'm delighted to be here. All this interest and enthusiasm is infectious! I'm sitting here with a big grin on my face (while at the same time being almost overwhelmed with the amount of interest, WOW!).

Ashkay, check out Jeanne Boyarsky's post above, those threads talk a bit about the availability in India, I believe. I'm not certain the book would help you if you're already comfortable with most SQL concepts.

Thanks!

Welcome to JavaRanch and thanks for helping to clear our doubts here =)

Have been looking out for a good and simple SQL book to recap what I've learned before =)
