Definitley a fan of these books I am just finishing an HTML with CSS XHTML.

Does the book show you how to connect to a SQL database or is it mostly about defining, structuring, optimizing databases?

Book content cover Database Design that in index called normal ,
I'm not sure that mean normalization but however I think that topic must teach the reader to familiar db design.

ps.I'm not see ACID property in index ,only thing i see is atomic.

Connectivity is not covered. It's completely focused on creating great databases. I think as an app developer, the chapters on writing queries would be of great use.

ACID is in there, btw.
