Just wondering, it appears from the TOC that there is no mention of stored procedures. Is there and it just isn't mentioned? If not, how come? Stored procedures in many cases are a very good idea.

Stored procedures are not included in the book. In the future, as Head First publishes books that discuss practically using SQL in your applications, they will be discussed.
