I have this small problem.

If i insert a row in a table (named employee) using the servlet then i am able to retrieve the row using the same servlet class.

But if i insert a row in same table using SQL plus then when i call select * from servlet it will only retrieve the row that was inserted by servlet and not the new row that was inserted using SQL plus.

I am using Oracle 9i, Java 1.6 and Tomcat 6.

Is it something related to privilages?

using SQL plus
.You have to type commit , then <enter> in sql*plus to confirm your changes. From then on, they will be visible in other sessions.

thanks for reply, well i got it while by chance that what i was doing was closing the sql++ window by close button at top right, instead i should have typed EXIT to close the window, it does the same job as commit but also closes the window as it is obvious ;)

I have changed my name. Now is there something more to worry about or am all set for cruising forum?

That doesn't make any sense, entering EXIT should not issue a commit.
