Performance tuning

Hi all,
am using Jboss 4 as a server, Oracle 9i as backend and java. i have one report in which procedure will send 100000 records. When am running the report for the first time it takes around 55seconds to get the response. the same report for the different type input(output will be different but same amount of records) it takes 4 seconds. For the next iteration it takes 3seconds.
am using callableStatements. When i tried to print the time where it takes so much time, i found getting the object from the cursor and iterating the resultset first time takes long time.
first i thought it is bcoz of cache. But the second time iteration is for entirely different inputs.

Advanced thanks for your help.
