Working with IBM iSeries DB2, advanced issues...

Ok guys, this is a call out to any IBMer's hanging around here that are developing web apps. Right now I am writing a web app that connects to our iSeries DB2 database. I want to use the SQE engine instead of the CQE engine for returning my result sets. The only way I can do this is by running the CL command CHGQRYA QRYOPTLIB(MYLIB) so that the engine will point to my copy of QAQQINI that I have IGNORE_DERIVED_INDEX *YES.

I'm using java.sql.* to make my connection and return my result set. Does anybody know where and how these classes run their commands on the iSeries? Can I access these commands and change them or insert the one above? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

thanks
