Class.forName()?

In all jdbc connection classes i find this code

Class.forName("some driver String");

and the weirdest thing is that the return type(of class Class) is not stored anywhere. There is no assignment here. Then What is the use of this code?

Cheers!

This question has been discussed before on JavaRanch. Look here: Class.forname() return .

I’ve looked at a lot of different solutions, and in my humble opinion Aspose is the way to go. Here’s the link: http://aspose.com
