Hi subbareddy,

Welcome to Javaranch.

Please visit the URL

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/guide/jdbc/getstart/resultset.html

and read the section 5.1.7 Types of Result Sets

if still you face problems in understanding same, there is lot of help available at ranch.

Thanks,
Shailesh Chandra

Hi Meruva,
I totally agree with Shailesh, that Sun's Documentation is just the best way to know all details, but I can give you a brief:
Imagine that your application displayed a number of records from DB, well if any changes happens after displaying, it won't effect the records shown.
So in order to make your ResultSet sensitive to changes made by others, just declare it as (TYPE_SCROLL_SENSITIVE).
And the opposite is (TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE).
