Hi,
What is the difference between webserver and application server and what are their roles ?

Hi Jojo,
A webserver provides a container for the webservices like servlets...whereas an app server provides container for the distributed components...it provides middelware services to these components like.....
managing the transaction, managing multiclient support, persistence, managing the resopurce and component life cycle...security, load balancing...
so a developer neednot bother abt these issues and just focus on business logic,
