i m having 5+ yrs of experience in J2EE technologies, currently my employer has offered me a switch to Datastage technology. i request ranchers to advise, * i want to know whether it is advisable to switch to datastage at this point, * what is the scope in datastage?, * the learning curve, * are there any other companies in india using this product? any response will be highly helpful

It's not unusual for a company to want you to move to a technology that's proprietary or lacks marketability. Later on, they often change technologies again. When they change, they sack you. You should sack them now.

it would be HARAKIRI for u to switch datastage after such a good exp in J2ee . J2ee is still a hot cake..unless it gets dried up u better change company itslef!!!

Hi, Is it good for a fresher(MCA, 2006 batch) to start it's career with IBM WEBSPHERE DATASTAGE TX / Mercator Technology ? I am not a bit interested but my employer is forcing me.
