You can use the -x command line option (type jar followed by ENTER at the command prompt for all options). Another user-friendly way it just to open it with WinZip.

I know what you mean, I struggled through all that stuff, too (still am). I don't think any one piece is difficult, it's just that there are a lot of pieces to put together before something works. Stick with it, and you're welcome
