Congratulations on clearing the SCJP2 test!! It would take about 30 days for you to recieve the Certificate. However donto worry about it too much. The Score card that you got from the Prometric Center is more than enough to show it to your prospective employers. Hope this helps, Sandeep

"patmi17", The Java Ranch has thousands of visitors every week, many with surprisingly similar names. To avoid confusion we have a naming convention, described at http://www.javaranch.com/name.jsp . We require names to have at least two words, separated by a space, and strongly recommend that you use your full real name. Please log in again with a new name which meets the requirements. Thanks.

Hi Patmi17, As Frank has suggested, please follow the naming conventions of JavaRanch forum. It helps to identify and know each Javarancher uniquely. Yes, the present situation is bad for IT.However, it should not discourage us too much. The situation should change next year.Start preparing for that now!!Taking any decision to switch technologies at this time may not prove advantageous in the long run.I would urge you to wait and keep yourself updated with the latest Enterprise Technologies. As Java has established itself in this arena, I believe it would be nice to start off from here.Any other technology (like Microsoft .NET) would take its time to establish its presence.Hence, I will stay with Java for now atleast. I am myself persuing Advanced Java Certification and am trying to earn the Oracle Jcert title.I still need to take Test 486 - IBM OOAD with UML.It is the set of 5 tests, Level 1 being SCJP.I guess doing such Certs and keeping themselves updated with the latest IT trends will help in the long run. Hope this helps, Sandeep
