Problem with session in iPlanet

I am using iPlanet Application Server 6.0 on NT.I put values in the session in a jsp.On submitting the jsp,the control goes to a servlet and then the servlet forwards it (using Request Dispatcher ) to the jsp which called it.Now,the values of the session are lost.Has anybody faced any similar problems?. Do i have to change some settings while deploying the WAR file ?.Please help me out if not with solutions atleast with suggestions :}
