I am new to developing web-applications.We have client for whom we have to develop a website with following rquirements-chat module,live video/allowing playing a recorded video,file-sharing,message-board.I want to use JSP and servlets.What other java technology will I need.What kind of server will I need to host the website?
Any other suggestions?

It's time to break out the magazines and catalogs! Some or all of the various apps you need are available commercially. Also check SourceForge and FreshMeat on the web. To serve real-time video, you'll need a video server app, for which I'd recommend a fast CPU, plenty of RAM and probably high-performance RAID in case anything needs to get stored locally. RAID is definitely a good idea for file sharing and message boards. Needless to say, a high-speed link to the Internet is also critical.
Those are just some general guidelines. Anything more specific I couldn't do without going on-site and probably setting up some prototypes.
