I have SCJP, but know nothing of J2EE. Is "Core J2EE Patterns" the place to start or is there a more basic place that I should go first?

I would start with Instant Enterprise JavaBeans by Paul Tremblett. You can view this page, for more books: http://www.javaranch.com/bunkhouse/bunkhouseJ2ee.jsp ------------------ Tom Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform Moderator of the forums: J2EE and EJB Other Java APIs

This is the place to start. The patterns book is good, but it certainly is not an introduction to J2EE. James

It also is a good idea to download one of the app servers - JBoss, Weblogic, Websphere, etc. Try and get the samples running and write your own.
