I am a programmer working in a telecom Corp . Java is my favorite . But i do not know what can i do to integrate my job and my favorite.
Could u give me some instances using JAVA( especially J2EE ) techonology in Telecom field?Got these,I think i can "instigate" my boss to use java in more projects.

NMS services is the place where Java is extensively used now a days.
I personally worked with a NMS development framework called Lumos(it integrates decently well with app servers like web logic and Open JMS etc) It has nice hookups for SNMP, TL1 etc.
Adventnet is another NMS development framework which is also famous in the telecom world. Bear in mind that the above mentioned two are very expensive because they specialize for full fledged NMS development.
If you have couple of good J2EE, Java programmers and good amount of time: evaluate the above products and develop your own that suits your requirements.

well u should try out javax.comm api's also as they are good for working at serial and comm ports.
there is a project on at community for usb interfaces also.
And jini based NMS is also a real cool thing that had happened for java. It makes network services as simple as web application.
