Hi, I installed the weblogic 6.0. I want to create my one own connection pool there. I modified config.xml file still i could not create the connetion pool. would u tell me how to create connectiopn pool with xml code..and also how i know connection pool is created.

After you have installed the WLs6.1 Configuring the connection pool is very easy if you try from console. I will not recommend doing t from config.xml as it doesn't take all the parameter's directly. 1. Start the server. 2. logon to server in administrator mode http://loclahost:7001/console it will ask for login and password. 3. Select the server from the left pane (myserverif default). 4. Go to Databases tab. 5. Create connection pool. On the right pane you will have 3 tabs which are important. In first one you will specify the Database URL and the driver. In properties section You will specify the username ad the password. on separate line just like properties file. 6. On another tab you will specify maximum connection and initial number of connection etc. Make sure initla number ir greater than 1. 7. You have to add this pool to the Myserver which is done on separate tab without it connection pool is not available. 8. You may need to define the Datasources for This connection pool Which may be nonjts and jts datasources. There is separate selection unders database/jdbc in left pane. Make sure that you add this datasources to your server. And give them the same pool. 9. Go to Myserver and on the right pane select the general tab(i am not sure which one but one of the tab has the option for logging level) make it warn. 10. When you start the WLS server again you will see if Connectionpool is created or not it will also give any errors in log. hopw it helps,
