SCJP first or not?

Hi everyone,

I have just now joined d grp.
I am a fresher and unfortunately doing a job in "progress"(its a technology!!!many of u would not b knowing..)
but desperately want to join a JAVA project in a gud company.
I am absolutely new to java.
Pls suggest whether-
1) I should apply for a job as soon as possible
OR
2) I should first get SCJP and den apply for new job??

Urgent!!

I think most of the people think that way Certification first or job first, I suggest you to look out for a job and also do the certification in the same time.

Certificatin definately helps to find good job . But your main concern should be on Job .
Do the certification side by side . It will give you eadge over other during interview but dosent give gurantee for job .

I'd not hire someone just because they have certifications (no matter what they are).
In fact I'd sooner NOT hire someone with certifications if that person doesn't have the experience to back up the knowledge those certifications say he has.

That piece of paper might get him through the first screening of applicants, might even get him an interview if he's otherwise equal to others who don't have it, but that's as far as it goes.
