Does anyone knows if the 3rd edition of the oreilly book covers J2EE 1.3 ?

He never promised that the workbooks would be free -- just that they would be available. You can download the free portions (which cover chapter 1-4) at the O'reilly web site. You can get the full versions of the workbooks (for which you must pay) at http://www.titan-books.com.
