Hi guys,

This is my first post to the group. I would be going for Wipro interview within 2-3 days. I have 3.3 years experience in java/j2ee/swing. My current CTC is 6.05L. What should be my expectation? I am based in Pune.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Sumit,

All the best but I don't think Wipro will offer more than what you are getting right now.

But anyone having experience with Wipro should be able to say it.

Thanks for the reply Afroz.

I went to the interview today. It was quick and very short. They asked me some very basic questions in core java like exception handling, String vs StringBuffer, Factory pattern, MVC etc. Anybody with 3+ yrs of exp and SCJP should not have any problems at all. They did not ask me anything about what I had done in my any previous job stints. The only thing that I could not answer properly were the HTML and JSP stuff. I told them that I was a server side person and as such do not have much idea on the presentation layer things. But they kept stressing on the html and jsp.

So I got a bit nervous and I asked them what the position was about. I started getting the feeling it might be client development. For that the answer was "It would be decided later."

Then he asked my salary expectations. I asked them what they pay for a person with my background. The person disappeared and when he came back
he said that the HR Manager would call me tomorrow.

Does'nt all this sound a little bit funny ?

I have also heard a similar scenario from HR of Wipro. One of my friends cleared all the techy rounds of the interview, HR person contacted him and asked to fill the HR form. He filled the HR form, sent it back and since then he has not heard from them. Its almost 2 months now. He wrote an email also, but no response...

Weird...No?

Like I said in the beginning, Wipro cannot offer you what you are getting as your current salary. I think that could be the reason.

But anyway, lets hope you get a call, else you have much better options available in the market.
