I have got a very fundamental question to ask about the Primary Key of Entity bean. As Primary key class needs to directly or indirectly implement the Serializable interface, does it mean that the properties(instance variables) of the Primary Key class needs to Serializable objects or Primitive type???

Yes. Otherwise you would be unable to send the Primary Key down the "wire" to the EJB server in order to be able to access the EJB.
