Are the current recruitment drives at Lehman brothers because the company wants to ramp up its headcount or is it because of attrition in the past few months.I really would like to know about the work culture and the kind of work going on there. Can people in and out of Lehman give their opinions please?

Nikhil,
It is not true. They r really ramping up their head count; mind u they've gota lots of good project but before joining make sure ur dept. Dont join EQIT division; these guys r just running batch process & writing shell scripts. try to come in j2EE divisions like...EAS,FIT and OFTG these guys r doing damm good work in tibco, struts, hibernate etc.....Pay wise Lehman is quite good....u ask they will pay...
all the best

I dont agree with Manju. You better talk to HR/PM and ask about the kind of work you are going to get there. I heard EQIT is the best division there.

Rishi,
HR/PM will always tempt or pursuade u to join. U see EQIT division is totally swing & java core based with sybase. To the best of my knowledge; No web development is going on there. Secondly u need to modify existing system so forget any new project there.

Anjali,
None of my frnd is there so Cant tell u. But If u r abt to join or on the verse of taking decision then I can get the detail out for u. Please let me know If U want.

Hi Manju,

Not all work is done in java & swing. There are so many teams working in Tibco,c++,weblogic, reports etc etc. I do agree that they dont have new project because they have to first finish the current prj and then need to enhance n extend the current functionality(next phases).

And I do agree that HR/PM will try to tempt you...but atleast you would get to know wht all things are there to tempt u r they really tempting? i hope you are getting me.

And one more thing...I am not suggesting anyone to join LB or i m not taking side of LB. I am just sharing my knowledge.

cheers

Hi Rish,
Its Ok Pal. I got carried away with flow. Never mind; I agree we all r sharing inf'n here.
Cheers Dude!!

hey Dave,
"Did anyone else think that this was a thread about the footballer?"

lol Dave u cracked me up. football fever is On...enjoy !!

Nikhil,
see They have very neat & clean salary structure. if u have 2 yr of experiece; u'll be paid 4.8 fixed pay + 15% of fixed pay annual bonus + conditional equity bonus.
when I say u ask they will pay; I mean u are really a deserving candidate & u ask for 6 lacs then they shall pay u 1.2 lacs as ur signing bonus but that amount wont be considered the part of ur fixed income thus it doest count for annual bonus and equity awards..

Anjali,
Fixed Income group also happens to be a good group. cheers

Nikhil,
reagrding ur selection procedure,
They Take 45 minutes java test(java core+j2EE depending on ur profile).
for 2 yr experience they conduct 2 technical round + 1 HR and one final round with divisional head....sometime technical round becomes 3 to 4 in number.
