As for a onsite in Sap Labs is concerned there are chances of making short visits to Germany..

If you are not interested to continue your career in testing Datawarehousing is good option for a change. But never think testing dont have growth options, it is having equal opportunites as development jobs. Sap Labs may not have much onsite options.

My advice would be to go for DW. I have many friends of mine who has changed from Java to DW or Oracle. It has a good scope.
Also KJ Reddy, whats your profile? I see many posts coming for you directly ?

after working 2+ years for satyam, normally everyone gets bored.
and SAP is worth a company to join for to get a good exposure.

Take the Data warehousing option - get free training from your company - gain some experience, then float your resume - you will get much better opportunities - short term ( onsite, high pay) vs long term ( solid career, higher pay).
I'd say go with Data Warehousing. Testing sucks after a few months/years and it's sidelined most of the times. Unless the company is really huge like Microsoft, testers are paid less compared to developers.
Data Warehousing opens a whole lot of options for you - CRM, BI, ERP are all in some ways related to DW. Some day maybe you could become an independent contractor too! You can't have all that with a testing career...just my thoughts.
All the best, Amit

hi all
I was offered the project in Datawarehousing testing i demanded them for development ..but they pushed me into it ....
please let me should i go for training in institute and learn Dw developemnt tools and then jump to other company ,...
does DW testing gives enough things to learn DW development on own ....

I'm curious to know what is 'DW testing' ?? I've never heard of testing at the database level!!! Do you have to write code to 'cleanse' the data? If so, wouldn't that be ETL??? Am I missing something??

I got that - my question was specific to the tasks you perform on a day to day basis, since I've never heard of datawarehousing testing.
Maybe others can throw more light if its a good choice.

Datawarehousing Testing is a new word to me. I have never heard of it. If it is Datawarehousing then you should go for it. There are lots of opportunities for Data Warehousing. Find out what you will be working in Data Warehousing like what is the software tool you will be learning, COGNOS,Informatica etc? I think your other offers in Infy and SAP are both in Testing. If you are really interested in Testing as a career, then you could take either of those. Otherwise you could stay with Data Warehousing.
