Hi all,

I want to know if one person has worked with three companies and now if he gets an offer from fourth company then the new company(or the security agency on behalf of new company ) will call to all the companies for background checks or it will only call to the current company and not the previous ones? What will happen if the employee's previous company is closed now?Can the closed company's record can be found out from any govt organisation.Pls help me as I am in real trouble.

Most US companies do not do thorough background checks. The larger ones do, and if they use a background checking company they most likely will.

The government legally cannot view your records without a subpoena, although apparently the have been doing so lately anyone as pat of the war on terror.

BTW, you might get more responses and more accurate responses if 1) you use a meaningful subject, 2) you use real words in your subject and not shorthand, and 3) you mentioned the country in which you reside.

I think most companies(Indian) call to the current organisation not the previous ones.Correct me if I am wrong.

Most Indian Companies hire agencies to do the background check and they call all the companies you mention in your resume.

I worked in Satyam and they took details like empoloyee id, etc of all my previous companies during BG check. First company was closed, but that was not a problem for me at all.
