How to see replies to my private messages.
Shall I send private messages to a member whom I feel expert and taking his/her time to reply to my queries.

If you go to your profile you can see the list of private messages you have received, and below that the list of private messages you have sent.

There is a link titled My Profile in the top right hand corner of every page of the Saloon.

In addition, you can set up your profile so that you will get email notification whenever you receive a private message (or a response to a private message you sent).

Generally speaking, this is undesirable. See Use The Forum Not Email for an explanation of why questions and responses really belong in the forums, not in private messages.

Near the top right of the page is a link to "My Profile", where you can see your sent and received messages.

Please post queries to the board rather than sending PMs, as no one can see them so you will be the only person helped. In general, staff members wont respond to PM requests that should be posted to the general forums, but that depends on the individual.

You can see your private messages by clicking where it says "My Profile" in the upper-right corner of the page -- i.e., here.

No, you should not use private messages to ask for help. Please Use the Forums, not Email or PMs. Private messages are for communication between friends, and for reporting problems or abuse to a moderator or sheriff. They should never be used to ask for Java help.

Wow, a three-way simultaneous staff post, all with exactly the same timestamp. Don't see too many of those.

Respected Sheriffs,
I have respec to the forum's rules and regulations.I should have used the word "may" insteadof "shall".

Well, you certainly "may", assuming the recipient has "accept private messages turned on". We can't STOP you. But even if you do, most folks will tell you what Andrew, Dave and Ernest just said. Post your question to the forum. That way, the answer helps everyone, not just you.

Speaking for myself, I will not answer questions sent to me in email or as a PM.

Please post questions in the forums where all might benefit from the discussion.
