In simple and plain english could you please give me an idea what is J2EE and EJB. Can you compare it with other languages (if they have something similair) or .NET. Yes I have seen a lot of tutorials/books about but I got lost. I want to get an idea before go deep and learn what is J2EE and EJB. I know the basic of OOP and Java but not advance subjects. Thanks

There is a very nice tutorial on the Sun web site. I would start there.

Tamara,
1. The sheriffs and Bartenders here volunteer their time to help others. That means that we're glad to help people on principle, though we expect you to pull your own weight, and try to meet us halfway.
2. You're a guest here, and you're behaving rudely towards your host. We don't owe you, though we're willing to help. It sounds like you need a little more discipline in your problem solving skills: break down your problems into smaller, manageable bites. Thus, if you don't know what cgi is, then ask. Digest the answer, and repeat.
3. You'll find that a lot of us here are teachers, as well as having other roles in life. If you don't feel that that we're adding value to your education, then you should probably find another, more useful site.

Tamara, I did not assume that you know everything. But I did assume that you were capable of reading and knew how to use google.
If you didn't know what CGI was then why didn't you ask that?
By the way, your name is in violation of the JavaRanch naming standard ( http://www.javaranch.com/name.jsp ) which you agreed to and I assume you read when you registered. Please adjust your name.
