I am trying to learn EJBs and J2EE in general on my laptop. It came with windows XP home edition. I downloaded the J2EE 1.4 beta sdk as i have heard that it supports windows xp. While the server runs fine the deploytool is giving me a lot of problems. It sporadically crashes when I am using it - taking my machine down with it so I have to power cycle. When working through the J2EE tutorial (1.3 version as there is no 1.4 version) the deploytool crashes every time I try and create a new application client jar. Does anyone know why this is? or what I need to do to stabilise j2ee on xp - do I need to go back to win2k - hope not as I quite like xp.

With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
