These types of EJBs can be saved and restored across client sessions.
To save, a call to the bean's getHandle() method returns a handle
What is the handle ? How does to functioning for persisting the data?

You can call the EJBHandle method of the remote or local business interface and store it in some secondary storage or session. When you want to call the ejb again , deserialize the handle and invoke the EJBObjext method of the handle. You get the EJB reference returned by this method.
