I have a project at work and we are going to use JMS. Wondering which Messaging Server is the best and why? Is there any Messaging Server which is open source, reliable and widley used?
Thank you
Garndi

All J2EE application servers come with a bundled JMS server implementation. That means that, for example, JBoss would suffice. There are also "dedicated" messaging products implementing JMS such as Soniq MQ, Fiorano MQ, WebSphere MQ but they all cost $$$. The open source scene has OpenJMS and JORAM.

No. Tomcat is just a Web Container.

I have installed JBoss, and started it using run.bat in bin dir.
how to use it as JMS server?
Can anyone point me to a tutorial or some code to write a sample JMS program.
Thank you

For that, you'd better continue the discussion in our JBoss forum or the official JBoss.org forum for JMS.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
