For interactive applications, people use MVC or Struts. Are there any other architectural frameworks for other type of applications

Hi James,
The Core J2EE Patterns book is full of architectural patterns for use in all types of apps (not just interactive). I'm not sure that that answers your question though.
Struts is an implemenation of MVC for the Web. Are you asking is there a similar pattern set for doing other types of applications? probably but I would need more info on what you are planning to build to make that call.
Hope this helps.

Another good resource for architectural patterns is Fowler's Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture.

A classic architecture pattern book is Pattern-Oriented Software Architecture. Highly recommended.
Specifically, look at the abstracts of the architecture patterns.
