From the DTD file:
The value of the ejb-link element must be the ejb-name of an
enterprise bean in the same ejb-jar file or in another ejb-jar
file
in the same J2EE application unit.
In other words, while the ejb-name element specifies the logical name with which the referenced EJB can be accessed, the ejb-link element specifies to the container where to find that particular EJB.
