Because "English-only" is an official policy, and virtually all of the posts in that long, 18-month old thread contained no English. The thread was recently resurrected with a few more non-English posts, thus bringing it to the attention of the staff, and so it was removed.

Frankly, it should have been deleted 18 months ago, but the bartenders must not have seen it.

This site is an english-language site; our policy is if posters want to post things in other languages, they need to provide a translation as well. I see that you, Chetan, did follow this rule, but the vast majority of other posters in the thread did not. I'm not sure how the original Gazal thread was allowed in the first place, because that rule has been around a long time. Perhaps the MD moderators were feeling more permissive then. Sorry.

Most of my posts got deleted by moderators without any sign and I write in English. The problem is that moderators are arrogant and have limited expertise in topics they try to speak. So everything they do not understand just got deleted.

I'd like to see the statistics that support your claim that "most of your posts" are deleted.

If you are referring to the one post that got removed from the Servlets forum this morning, what you do in your own proprietary and non-specification-compliant version of a servlet container was not relevant to the conversation and would only serve to confuse newcomers to the technology. Hence it was removed.

If you would like to discuss the issues around creating your own version of a servlet container, by all means start a converation on it. There are probably some very interesting conversations to be had in that area. But interjecting it into another conversation about the spec-compliant containers is either confusing or a thread hi-jack.

Where did you learn your mind reading technique to know so well about the motivations of others that you can state them as fact? I think you should ask for a refund...

What does "without any sign" mean?

"... moderators are arrogant ...": I can see how somebody could come to that opinion when their stuff is deleted. Of course, from my perspective, it is well worth it.

You're not exactly persuading me to change my policies so far.

"... have limited expertise in topics they try to speak.": First, I think you mean to say "... have limited expertise in the topics they manage." - would that be correct? Some perhaps. We choose moderators based on their kindness and generosity more than their knowledge. However, many of the staff are authors on these subjects. Some are authors on many subjects. Some have such a high level of expertise that they are directly involved in creating the tools that we use or creating the exams that measure our abilities.

"So everything they do not understand just got deleted." Since this site is packed to the gills with threads, then they must understand mountains of stuff! Damn! We must have the most knowledgable staff around!

So it seems that my policies are great just the way they are. Thanks! I'm glad we had this chat.

"If you are referring to the one post that got removed from the Servlets forum this morning"

Waidaminit .... this guy is slapping us around this much over just one post? One post that clearly did not belong? For that we get "arrogant", "limited expertise" and whatnot?

If this is true, then I think "D Rog" owes us all lots of apologies.
