Not in general, no. You can choose to deploy one EAR in its own JVM, but most J2EE products (including WebSphere) allow you to deploy multiple EARs within the same JVM (e.g. Application Server in WAS parlance).

Hi Kyle,
Is there any book which would prepare me for IBM Solution Developer for WAS 5.0 exam? I have SCJP and SCBCD, I know SCJP counts towards this certification. I have trouble finding any self-study certification book for certification.
Best regards!

Both my upcoming book and Howard Kushner's book were prepared with certification (among other things) in mind. The book "Professional IBM WebSphere 5.0 Application Server" by Tim Francis would be useful as well.
However, as usual, your best resources are probably the redbooks.

Thank you. I will wait for your book. It's much easier with certification book. Because certification books usually cover whole exam. Finding all needed material and determining what is useful for the exam is a quest by itself. What your book will be called? How soon we may expect it?
