I did not find any book about EJB talking about the environment setup. and the Sun site is also very confusing. Here is my problem. I download j2ee 1.4 first, (which defaultly creates a directory C:\Sun\AppServer\...) there is a jdk directory under it, so I assumed I might be able to survive with download jdk. I tried to compile a small 'hello world' ejb, but I can not make it compile. the only error I got is: could not find javax.rmi.RemoteException. I search everywhere to see which jar file rmi is included, but failed. so I took the suggestion to download jdk1.3.1_09. but I can still not make it compiled. I used Tomcat and Jboss last year, it was very straightforward, and I did not find any problem. so I am thinking to go back there. But it is so frustrating, can anyone tell me how to set up environment to make everything work together in a clear" environment setup for dummy" way? Thanks a lot!!!

I guess it was because the two versions do not work together. I went back to jdk1.3 and j2ee1.3, everything is good. waste 2 days of my valuable time
I’ve looked at a lot of different solutions, and in my humble opinion Aspose is the way to go. Here’s the link: http://aspose.com
