what is rmic? RMI Compiler? Do I have to take care about it when deploying EJB Application?

Yes, it stands for RMI compiler. No, you don't need to worry about it when dealing with EJBs (the container does all the RMI stuff for you).

RMIC is a RMI Complier used to create STUB's and SKELETON's for remote communication. The EJB Application Server has a in-built support of RMIC for creating STUB's & SKELETON's for communication between client and server application. Hope this helps!!!
