Hi All
I am thinking of making a career move to gaming industry. Can any one help me out in this case. Means
1) What are the various companies in India, that are involved in game development.
2) What is the future of the gaming industry in India.
I already started reading books and articles on game development. What else I have to do so that I can get a job in a game development company.

Online Gaming ???
1 IVY COMPTECH in Hyderabad is one company which is actively involved in Gaming. There is one more in Hyd and one in Chennai. (Can't recollect their names)
2 I think that it should be good.

Ivy Comptech is not strictly into gaming..they are more into providing gaming platform infrastructure and system support. But they are the BIGGEST payers in hyd. My frnd joined at 6+ yr exp for 17lac/pa.
Dont have much info on bally Systems..but they are acvtively recruiting.
I was approached by two startups in gaming recently. one was games24*7 , based out of mumbai and i do have the contacts for this if anyone is interested. This is a totally hush hush project.
The other is Indecca in Pune. They recently set up shop and are software providers for poker portals all across the world. they had offered 16 for my exp(7 yrs). Contacts are with me.
both of the above are looking at primarily java/j2ee skillsets + unix

how much game developer are paid. who are the serious player in India in game development.Few companies that i know are:-
Dhruva Interactive, Paradox Studios, Indiagames....

Not sure how much hardcore game developers are paid in india. In US though its a very high paying and critical skill...the companies you mentioned are animation companies except maybe for indiagames..
you can surely try for indecca, pune. they do seem to pay pretty well with good long term prospects.
