new to ejb, help needed for ejb-jar.xml

hi all,
I am very new to ejb, iam using WAS5.0 with jdk1.4, i went through an ejb-jar using weblogic that has a ejbc option, is there any equivalent for websphere? i am most confused of how to deploy the application, actually our project requires certain modules to be deployed as jars(ejb) and the rest as wars(we use only servlets). i actually have no idea of how to deploy them, i went throudh the application assembly tool of was and got the ejb-jar.xml, i have done an ant using that jar to build the ear file, but am not sure if that is right... some one help me...
NOTE: the requirement is i should use ant
