Hi guys...I have been selected by Oracle's STG Group .I have been selected in Siebel Division and I have got around 15 months of experience. Can I ask for 7-7.5 from this group as I know that this group pays quite well?My interviews went very well. And now I feel they can offer 7.5 if I ask them.
I need urgent advice on this...Thanks.

Hi Jodh,

You meant the company or the skills that pay well ? It's quite interesting for me to know that Siebel skills are so highly-paid.

Siebel is recently acquired by Oracle....And this group is involved
in the development of Siebel Product and it comes under the Oracle's
ST Group.I have heard that ST Group even pays 8.5 to 1 year experience guys.I mean I know one such case.I mean please help me out on this...

To be real honest ,I was myself shocked to find out that 1 year experienced guy was getting this much package(8.5)...But does anybody know
when does an HR in Oracle ask about the expected salary ....Because Oracle takes too much time in giving the offer and in between, they don't tell you anything .I told my expected to the director of the Group where I would be joining...I mean I initiated that topic...Had I not done like this they would, not have discussed the salary details?...I mean any person in Oracle STG would surely be able to guide me.

Jodh,

What is your current Package. Hike depends upon heavily on your current package.

I get 26k in hand..No, but the thing is the case I know got 8.96
after one year, and he was in Verizon at 3L and he had only 9 months of experience..So that means hike does'nt depend upon the previous package..
That probably means hike depends upon the Group in which you join..

Generally that is not the case. 3L to almost 9L is 200% hike and I don't think any company would pay this kind of hike unless there is any reason to do so. He might have had multiple offers in hand and might have bargained well. At the same time, he might have been choosen for a key position. I don't see any reason other than this. It generally depends on your current CTC.

The thing is guy had only one offer and I know him very well and
he asked for 6+.But amazingly the group gave him the letter of 8.96..
It may be a oneoff case and the guy himself was surprised....But the thing is if they can offer 8.96 that means there will be groups that can easily offer 7L.

I am ready to work atleast next 5 years for any company which gives me 200% rise ..even if that gives me single digit rise ..Unfortunately my SAP skills will not be usefull for ORACLE ...But I have a chance if ORACLE is going to buy SAP
