I agree. If your deployment environment has tons of memory, then you can still afford to have finders that pull out large amounts of data.
Are you pulling out this data for tabular display / something. If that is the case, I w'd suggest use
jdbc. We actually had a home grown framework that did that using jdbc. It was very simple to configure etc.
When using Entity beans make sure that your code actually works with the customer data, i mean large scale data. Do ask questions on usage
patterns and what kind(amount) of data they expect on each of the entities you have modelled. Once you have the feedback, quickly assemble a dataset that models the production scenario. Eveything works when the data is minimal, but once the code goes into production, you might be in for some surprises.
