Job profile: Writing Codes and code review of others. Helping junior coders. Tools: Spring MVC, Spring, Hibernate, Tomcat, Eclipse Process: No process as such (no RUP,Agile here). Job profile: Insurance, Reinsurance, Retrocession. Tools: Eclipse, Weblogic, Struts, Swing, (Soon to come... ) Hibernate and Spring Process: Service requests as they come and document them. Requests may be of high priority like production defects or just normal requests. Work Pressure: Depends actually. Some days its crazy when you are cleaning up the crap that some one left on their code. Every day there is a new problem. I love it ! Office politics: Can get ugly. Everyone wants their hands clean
Domain: Have laptop, will travel Job Profile: Analyze, Design, and Write software applications. Provide mentoring to junior developers. Have worked as a team lead on two of my last three projects. Tools: Always J2EE related. I'm always learning some new skill everywhere I go. Process: Depends on client. Work Pressure: Also depends on client, but generally high considering the nature of my work. I tend to come into projects that need talent that can come up to speed quickly and help them finish high profile projects. I tend to enjoy a level of stress that would make most flee in terror.
Domain: Started off in financial services but for the past 2 yrs am in a railroad company - learning interesting things everyday and my engineering background is helping me out a little bit. Job Profile: Collect requirements, design, and develop s/w systems. Also am mentoring non-Java/non-J2EE developers in the company. Tool: Anything & everything to with IBM since the company is big with the IBM products. Am planning to learn Mainframe COBOL programming this month (how about that?) Work Pressure: Nothing substantial when compared to financial organizations. Regular 9-5 work hours with overtime pay. Commute: 5 mins walk! I live in downtown area where my company is located. I am helping out ease the oil demand in the US!
