Enterprise Java Beans from O'Reilly by Richard Monson-Haefel is also a good book with lot of examples. Also the latest edition comes with JBoss workbook which is nothing but a set of examples/exercises to assit you in learning the principles. The text is little descriptive, but from my point of view, that is good; because it will help to cement the ideas and principles of J2EE/EJB

Thanks
Shibu
