How to know the JMS server is shut down or not?

Ranchers, I found even I shut down my JMS server, I can still create connection or queuesession without any exception, is it correct? and if it is the normal behavior, how can we know our JMS server is shut down or not besides sending a message to it.

Sometimes cache holds the reference and we get the connection and other stuff from that cache.It takes some time for refreshing the cache.So u may be getting this problem.

Ideally u should not get this issue.Check ur cache parameters.
U will get some insights abt this issue.
