I have a total experience of 1.5 years as of date...I have got a good offer in the Retail Business Unit of a database major...My primary area of interest is Finance and I would prefarably like to build my expertise and work in that domain as a long term career plan...In case if I decide to make a jump to a IT company operating in financial domain(or the IT division of a Financial company) after a 2 year stint in the retail domain will it be an easy one??Do the companies give equal emphasis to domain knowledge and technical expertise? My major concern is my domain should not become an impendiment to my future career jumps....What are your thoughts about this...?
Helping hands are much better than the praying lips
If you're planning switch after 2 years, your exposure to Retail Business Unit of a database major will not be an impendiment if the company is really well known. But if you're keen on fiance domain, maybe you can try to get associated with one of the bigger banking companies or companies providing financila solutions such as iFlex.
Frankly with your level of knowledge in finance, you'd always be welcome in any finance company.
