SCBCD at the moment at least is for EJB 2.0 (or maybe 2.1 at the moment).

Btw, do you guys know when EJB 3.0 was released? How many months do
you think Uncle Sun will release the certification?

The final release of the JSR was 11 May 2006.

Just so you know, you can find that sort of information by looking for the appropriate JSR.

Thanks Paul. I'm really starting to get interested with
EJB 3.0. I hope it becomes superior compared to other
persistence tools.

To answer one of the initial questions, in the SCBCD forum there's been discusison that there should be this fall the release of the new version of the exam. Assuming this is true, I'd hope that any book that covers EJB 3.0 in depth would likely be a good prep for the exam.

I suppose we'll find out in the fall.

How did you manage to take all of those certifications? What time
span in months did it took for each of them?

Not months - years.

I've been a Java programmer for about seven years now. Started with my SCJP 1.2 in March of 2001, though - mandated by my company, just to have the certificates on the wall in our lobby and to be able to tell customers that we had certified programmers on staff. My little run of certs has been mostly based on whatever I'm working with at the moment, from WebSphere to DB2 to just-plain-JavaEE.

And no, no EJB cert there yet. Haven't yet worked for a company that's used EJBs (though I did train to use EJB 2.0 at one point, with my last employer) yet, though if I can come up with a credible reason for needing them at the moment, as the development lead on my team, I'm allowed to put in for something to use new technologies... :-D

(And for what it's worth, certification book or not... I'm not a big believer in 'certification books'. I'd rather have something to teach me the technology and be able to be used as a reference book later, and to pass the test having a comfortable grasp of the technology... but that's just my $0.02.)

I wasn't familiar with the word. I am from India and haven't heard it before. Sorry.
