Hi,

Does anyone work in Telecom domain? If so, please post the links of useful resources available on the internet. I Googled but I am always getting pointed to companies providing Telecom Services. I searched wikipedia but even there it doesn't seem like there is an article available on telecom domain.

Thanks,
Srikanth

Hi Srikanth,

TCP/IP and OSI layer are the fundamental for telecom. Once you know these basic concepts then try the following website www.iec.org.
Lot of tutorials available in this site.

bye for now

Thanks everyone for replying me. It seems like I am going to work on telecom domain on my next project and so far I have been working only on Payment Processing. Just want to know the basics of the domain before I start anything.

Thanks for the input.

Regards,
Srikanth

Hi srikanth,

I dont understand what you are referring to . Billing is one which is handled by OSS (Operation Support System). If you are going to work in this, you should know SNMP.

But i am not sure whether you should know SNMP for payment processing
all the best

Hi srikanth,

Ok i misunderstood your previous post. If you are going to develop NMS software you should know SNMP.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
