Hey Guys,

I am posting this with some BIG hope so please do try and help me out!

Actually I am trying to start a small project in Java, which would be web based. I require help in deciding the kind of (open source) technology to use in this project. I am making a small web project, which requires a search module, and posting of information.

Purpose is to finish the project as soon as possible with least amount of R&D.

* I have MySQL and Apache with me. Will this be the right combination with some JAVA to go with it?
* I would require data transfer to and from the database.
* Also please suggest whether I should use Eclipse (what version, if yes?)

Thanking you all in advance!

Anyways, mods if this is an inappropriate thread to post in pls shift this to where you feel it will generate more replies.

Hello CK,

For a simple project like yours you can go in for combination of a JSP / Servlets, which would be easy to learn and implement. Since a war application will suffice Tomcat would do as the web server.
