Can anyone please tell me why is SFSB allowed to open transaction across methods calls??
And can you take up a scenario where we might want to do this?

I can thing of the following in which you implement a shopping cart using a stateful session bean , in that case you might have variuos methods to take care of various stuffs , like adding items , taking care of persisting shipping information of the customer , credit card transaction , reducing the count of item shopped in the inventory database and offcourse all this to happen under a single transsaction.
